First JAKEe Design CyberTruck Wrap Designs Hits the Road Part 2

First JAKEe Design CyberTruck

Wrap Designs Hits the Road

Part 2

I published an article back on July 24, 2024, that explored how some CyberTruck owners had been inspired by my original JAKEe Two-Tone CyberTruck design with a fat pinstripe specs, that I created immediately after having seen the CyberTruck the evening it launched, 5 years ago and brought them to life

I decided to write this follow-up article as I keep discovering new CyberTrucks that have been wrapped just like my original design. I discovered the CyberTruck pictured above on Twitter, as well as the one below which was published on Twitter by @Micro2Macr0, and so far as I can tell, they both nailed my original two-tone design spec.

Below we see a different CyberTruck wrap based upon my JAKEe Two-Tone CyberTruck Design reference, which looks super cool...

Below we see one of my renders of my JAKEe Two-Tone CyberTruck Design which I created just after Tesla brought them to their local showrooms.

Below, we see the original image before I modified it to see what it would look like with my design characteristics as seen below. Essentially, I wrapped the bottom half of the CyberTruck in black, and added a fat red pinstripe, and I added a pyramid shaped faux rear window panel that makes the CyberTruck look way more like an otherworldly SUV than a Truck.

The render seen above that I created a while ago had one flaw that I later figured out, and that was the fat red pinstripe was still too skinny. In other words, I realized that to optimize the geometry, it is important to make the fat red pinstripe the same height as the front running CyberTruck light bar as pictured below.

So why didn't I purchase a CyberTruck immediately when it first came out, and wrap it with my two tone JakeE CyberTruck Wrap Design?

Two reasons:

1. I didn't want to pay a $27,500 premium to be the first person on my block to have a CyberTruck.

2. I didn't want to pay a huge premium to be a beta tester, and decided I would wait until the first major revision.

That being said, I have been talking with a number of wrappers about how to best achieve this look, and basically my plan it to wrap the entire CyberTruck in PPF with ceramic coating with the top half of the two-tone CyberTruck being wrapped in clear PPF, to preserve the stainless steel look, while making it impervious to fingerprints.

Also, I am not certain if I love the red pinstripe, so I figured out the best approach is to wrap the bottom half in black, then place the red vinyl fat pinstripe over the top of it, which would make it easy to remove, as well as serving the benefit of covering the centerline seam.

The CyberTruck pictured below is the same one pictured seven images up the page in tis story, which is remarkably similar to my JAKEe Two-Tone CyberTruck wrap with the fat red pinstripe, but unfortunately they didn't wrap the funk hood cover in black which would make it look better as it would better isolate and showcase the pyramid shape on the top sides of the vehicle.

I have to say that I am both flattered and inspired by seeing my JAKEe Two-Tone CyberTruck with the fat red stripe come to life. I say this as it was one thing to see it in renders, but to see actual photos of it shows how brilliant it looks...
